Yr Urdd means "The League of Youth" and most children in Wales are involved. It is open to all children from Reception through to Year 6.

The big event of the year is the Eisteddfod festival, which is a national gathering of children from all over Wales. At Eisteddfod there is singing, dancing, acting, arts and crafts and much more.

Mr UrddYr Urdd at Ysgol y Dderi offers a varied calendar of events that allows children to explore a variety of activities that are fun and educational. This could be anything including: -

  • Drama
  • Singing
  • Cooking 
  • Swimming
  • Roller Skating
  • Bob sleighing
  • Dry-slope skiiing
  • Bingo
  • Quizes
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Nature-based activities
  • End of term disco
  • Many more...

Once a year, there is a chance for the older Urdd members to spend a weekend at the Urdd camp in Llangrannog.

For Years 1 to 6, it meets every Wednesday from 3.30 until 4.30 (sometimes later for several activities - there will always be notification about this). Please could you ensure that you collect your child promptly at 4.30. Thank you.

The joining fee is £6.00 for the whole year and your child needs to join by October every year.
